BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS
PROJECT 1
Our group of seven students is assigned to conduct an in-depth case study on an intriguing building situated in Kuala Lumpur or Selangor. Our goal is to identify and evaluate five architectural materials and two structural materials utilized in the chosen building. Additionally, we need to select one material that has a notable experiential effect on the end users through its application and provide a comprehensive illustration of its installation process. We will present our findings on a single A1 size board.
PROJECT 2
This assignment is designed to evaluate students' understanding of building construction through detailed drawings and model-making. The focus is on the precise detailing of construction elements and their integration within a design. A key objective is to foster an appreciation for the critical relationship between design concepts and technical expertise. Successful design relies on a designer’s ability to address construction methods, integrate structural components effectively, and select materials wisely. This assignment also emphasizes the importance of mastering technical details in both construction and architectural design to ensure a cohesive and functional outcome.
